Weathered But Strong Professor Fundraiser

In November 2024, the Dairy Science Club raised $723 for the Georgia Foundation For Agriculture specifically their Weather But Strong to help out farmers who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. The stakes were high: students could "vote" for a professor they wanted to see in an inflatable cow suit by donating. Dr. Duberstein, Dr. Kinder, Dr. Callaway, Dr. Gonzalez, and Dr. Turner all bravely agreed to the competition. We passed our goal of $500, with professors challenging students by matching donations and even offering extra credit if fundraising goals were met! After some fierce competition, Dr. Duberstein was the lucky winner, wearing the cow suit with style! Our members had a great time updating some very invested students on who was winning throughout the week, and we are grateful to all who participated.

TShirt Fundraiser

In October 2024, we partnered with Clemson Dairy Science Club and various collegiate beef and dairy clubs across the eastern seaboard to raise money for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Together the various clubs colloborated to create a special edition shirt where all proceeds were donated to areas and farms directly affected by the storms. The UGA Dairy Science Club raised around $350 dollars that went towards the Weathered But Strong Fundraiser to help those impacted in the State of Georgia.
